Our chef, Chris Thompson, and event coordinator, Andrea DiBattista, have been working side by side for over 20 years — executing events with a level of experience and attention that clients feel right away.
Long before Blackstrap BBQ, the two met while running events at the legendary East Coast Grill in Cambridge, MA, and over time built a partnership that feels more like family.
Catering has remained at the heart of what they do, grounded in trust, thoughtfulness, and intention — and they bring that same energy to every event they take on.
Chris approaches each menu with a balance of creativity and respect for tradition, often drawing inspiration from clients’ family recipes or personal stories.
Andrea is committed to making the planning process feel clear and manageable. Her depth of knowledge helps clients feel supported and confident, and she truly listens — making sure each event reflects what matters most to each client.
